It all started at a picnic table in sunny California during a girls’ trip with my high school friends. What began as a casual card game quickly evolved into something entirely new—something that captured the thrill of strategy, the fun of friendly competition, and the challenge of memory games. Fueled by gourmet fries, frozen margaritas, and endless laughter, Pumptown was born—sketched out on a paper napkin, with cards and rules that came to life over the course of the trip. From that moment, I decided to go for it and bring the game to life!
The name Pumptown isn’t just random—it’s a tribute to my roots. Growing up in Edison, New Jersey, I was surrounded by a community that, while unassuming, was full of character and charm. Pumptown, NJ, is a little-known, unincorporated area named after an old public water pump that stood at the heart of the neighborhood. Much like the way that pump was a gathering point for our community, I want Pumptown the game to be a gathering point for friends and family—a place where fun and strategy collide!
